Is my male a female?

billcherep Dec 02, 2004 08:42 AM

I don't have probes, but am going to get some soon. In the mean time I have had a male that I purchased from a very reputable breeder that was a Mojave sibling (normal). It was sold to me as a male. I didn't popped him until now to see if he has sperm pluggs. I don't know if I am doing it right because there isn't anything coming out. Not even the Hemotobins (think thats what they are called) When I put him/her in with a ready female he/she just wagged his/her tail back and forth. I saw on a post these are reactions of females that aren't ready to mate. He/she also goes to the bathroom every time I put him in with a female. This is my first ime trying to breed and its not going to well.

I would take it into a vet and have it probed or, you can also call petstores that sell snakes in the area and ask if they are able to sex a snake for you alot of place will do it free of charge.

Your snake is either a male, or it is a female.

If it is a male, as you stated, then it is not a female!--LOL

Sorry, couldn't resist.

People always ask me if an animal is a male or a female, and I quickly reply, "Yes! It is either a male or a female!"
