Red Ackie Advice Needed

daryn Dec 02, 2004 02:22 PM

Ques#1: Given that the animal is maintained under good conditions, what is the expected life span if an Ackie?

Ques#2: At about what age does an achie reach full size? I know that feeding amounts and frequency play a large role.

Ques#3: I have an enclosure that formaly housed my bearded dragon it is 2'W x 3'L x 2'H. Would this be too large to house a very young ackie? Should I subdivide it until the ackie is a certain size?

Ques#4: Can ackies of different sizes and ages be houseed together in the smae enclosure?

Ques#5: Do ackies need special UVB lighting such as a mercury bulb for basking? Would a Reptison 5.0 bulb be enough?

Thanks for any advice, Daryn

ackies should be housed with similar sized ackies , i have heard that they can live up to 15 years if maintaine3d properly. Most breeders breed them at around 10 months of age. and it is uknown whether they need uvb light or not , and yes i would suggest a smaller cage. hope i was of some assistance.
