wow, he likes to eat huh? he is very precious! anyway i cannot see what you are talking about. can you get a closer shot of his face? i take it he lives alone? what exactly is in the cage? you have to be really careful with cuts on the mouth because infections can affect their eating and do other bad things. i have just always heard such terrible stories about cuts near the mouth (of lizards in general) that if it were me, i would take him to the vet for medicine.

That must suck.

I see what you're talking about it's like a scrape or something.

If it were on another part of his body, I'd say put neosporin on there and you'd be fine, but since it's on his lip and there's a possiblity he could lick it off I suggest you take him to a vet and get some medicine for it so it won't hurt if he licks it off.

He is precious!

I do have a concern though, and hopefully the rest of the forum can weigh in on this. Is it normal for the Uros to look like that? My initial reaction was that he looked very bloated, as opposed to fat. Even fat Uros generally have a little bit of elephant skin on their sides...

Don't panic though please, this isn't meant to be a panic message! Just a, "haven't seen that before..." query.

Both Ra and Isis have done that to me if they're not happy.
He's just really puffed up (probably didn't like having his picture taken ), that's completely normal.

OOOHHHhhh,

You know what, I had not even thought about the fact he was just mad. Thank you! I was really stymied. It has been a long time since Archie has gotten all puffed up like that, but he used to do it when he was younger too.

Thanks again!

That happens. Everytime I go to pick Ares up, from laying on my stomach under a blanket, he bloats up and gives me this look like, why did you disturb me in my peacefull state? It's priceless.

he probably is just a little peeved but you are right. lizards can have bloat problems. i don't really know much about it but there was a question on it in the first reptile magazine i ever bought. i don't think i have ever seen my uros puff up in defense but i have seen my collareds do it, one of them ALOT! (he loves me i know he does!)
