I am getting a BD i can not wait!! I have build a cage that is (4L,3D,2H) can any one post pic of cage setup so i can make sure i can the lighting right... and if you have any thing to say that would help me outt?? thank

here are some pics of the terrarium i recently built
5.5 feet long, 3 feet high, 1.5 feet deep. If i had the space i would have gone 5.5 long, 2-3 feet deep, and 2 high.. 3 is a bit high so a stepladder is needed for the lower parts

My husband built this cage for my two beardies. It's bigger than you are wanting to build, but I thought I could offer some advice.
You should know ahead of time what kind of lighting and heating you want to put in the cage. If you are using the Reptisun 5.0 florescents or something similar, you will need to get the basking spot less than 12 inches away from the UVB light. Otherwise, the UVB is wasted and doesn't reach the dragon.
If you are going with the mercury vapor bulbs, the basking spot has to be 12 inches away or more and not any closer because the UVB is strong and the bulb gets hot.
One thing I didn't build into my cage that I wish I would've is a vent that will open and close. As the temp changes in our house, the temps change in the beardie cages. It would be really handy to be able to open a vent to let hot air escape on hot days or close it to keep more heat in on the cooler days. Just a thought.
