Whats the best substrate for a tegu. Would Jungle Mix Lizard Litter work??

Cypress mulch, exactly like what you can get at most any plant nursery, works very well. There are other types of mulch you can use but this works well and is not bad for the tegu. I think it's actually one of the most recommended substrates.

I suggest not cheaping out either, put in plenty. Tegus LOVE to dig and feel much more secure when they can.

That stuff might work with a baby for a short term but long run you will need to get some cypress or other mulch like Whitney Farms if you are on the West Coast like I am. It is hard to find Cypress out here and it is fairly expensive when you can. You will want to find the best mulch for the best price since you will be using LOTS of it! You figure you need a minimum 6' X 3' enclosure for an adult minimum and then at least 12" of mulch (more is better). Do that 6-12 times a year and it can get fairly expensive with an expensive mulch. Best of luck!
