What is the pre-breeding weight for female ETB?

boidkeeper Dec 03, 2004 07:27 AM

She's an adult but she's light. What should she weigh before cycling?
Thanks,
Trevor

Hey Trevor,
Lol, you know I have never weighed any of our girls. We judge based on size and girth. I'm sure you realize that they may go off feed right after ovulation, if it takes, and she must be able to carry to term without any food intake. Although we have noticed that even the same female will very about this during different pregnancies. I guess the bottom line is making the decission based on the worst case. We like our girls to be one the slightly chunky side before breeding.

Well if you put it that way...next year it is then!
Thanks Craig.
