Male and Female(s) housed together...

-JayDog- Dec 03, 2004 08:44 AM

I was looking to get a couple more Leos and was wondering how many females can be housed together with one male? Is 2 females and one male to much for one tank?

You could house them 10:1 if given the ample space, but you shouldnt keep them together for a long period of time, for this puts stress on the male and he will probly become thinner chasing so many girls around. the females also would need time to recooperate after her last clutch is laid.

Generally, follow the '1 leo per 10 gallons' rule. As stated above, however, you should not leave the male with then all the time.
