cherry head red footed help needed urgently!

hi guys, since last week my rft have stopped feeding and it seems to be grasping for air or somthing.. it keeps opening and closing its mouth... i am very worried. pls advice!

Get the temperatures up above 80F and soak the tortoise daily. Give it a day and if you don't see an improvement, get it to a vet ASAP.

Sounds like your red foot may have an upper respatory ailment. These can be very serious...I agree, Keep the temp high and if is has not cleared in a few day see a vet for further treatment.

Respiratory or also could be impacted digestive system. I've had one of my cherryhead females have an impaction (dirt/substrate) confirmed by vet xray... We gave her some mineral oil supplements and believe it or not, the dewormer flagyl aids in digestion. The gaping from my situation was due to gas backing up due to the impaction. At one point she vomited anything she ate due to the blockage. In about a week it cleared but these situations can be risky too (don't want to understate the risk).

Observe the animal but get to a vet if you do not see improvement after following Eds recommendations.
