Hi, just got a baby redfoot. I'm keeping him on peat moss but it get's all over his legs and face. I was wondering if theres any other substrate that holds humidity good but doesn't get stuck to my tortosie. Thanks

P.S. I also have that green moss stuff for him to hide in

You can save yourself a good deal of grief by providing a normal bedding like aspen bedding, leaf litter mulch, soil/sand, cyprus mulch... The bedding itself does not have to be humid. The important point is to provide a humid place where the tortoise can retreat to. Red Foots do not have to be kept humid all the time. You can provide a humide (typo but I think I'll keep it)(Humid Hide) by cutting a hole in a large enough rubbermaid container and filling it with whatever substrate that holds moisture. I recommend a fine sand to avoid bug problems.
