The real MonsterCages are made by SerpentsByDesign, NOT Jeff Ronne. AFAIK the real MonsterCages does not have a website, but you can find their ads all the time in the KS classifieds, and LLL Reptiles carries them as well.

MonsterCages are very nice, and you can get them made in any size you want.

In my other post I wrote that LLL Reptile carries MonsterCages. But after just checking I see that it was Ed Lilley who carries them. LLL Reptile & Supply does not.

I knew there were three Ls in there somewhere!

Anyway, I believe MonsterCages was planning to have a website, but not right now.

Once again, MonsterCages = SerpentsByDesign.

I'm sorry for the confusion.

I am still waiting after nearly 8weeks for my Monster Cage.

If it happens to arrive in this lifetime, I'll let you know how it is.

I have a four foot model and I like it. I keep my male Jampea retic in it and he's about 8 feet. I attached a PVC pipe from aide to side and he uses it often. With a newspaper substrate and a 12 x 18 radiant heat panel, along with a very large stainless steel water dish, he gets perfect sheds. I also like the venting -- there's a gap around the door and that's all. So I don't lose precious heat and humidity. Another important feature for retics is that there are no spaces that you'd get in between sliding doors and/or litter dams that the retic could push its head into. The cage is retic-safe.

If I were you I'd send Serpentsbydesign an e-mail with your name and phone number and ask about the delay on your cage. Their ads are always in the KS cage classifieds.

I'd love to see the 8-footer myself. That must be impressive. Did you order the broken down version or are you getting the assembled/welded one?

I was wondering are they using glass or aqrylic for the swing doors. I'm asking this because I know retics are notorious for pushing and if its aqrylic its going to give a little and thats just going to make it keep pushing. Also does he have a sliding glass option available.

They use aqrylic doors, mine open up and down, and don't swing out to the side (I wish they did though!) and I have a 10' tiger and a 9' tiger retic, and the doors are deffiently not a problem at all, very strong and reliable. My monster cages are 8' long x 30" wide x 2' High, and they are deffidently worth the wait. I can't remember exactly how long I waited for them, I don't think it was 8 weeks, but it could very well have been. I ordered mine in peices, and I set them both up in one night. By the way the pic is kinda old and there is a regular retic in the top one

Hey Ben,

How was it to assemble them? I bought mine already assembled but am considering getting the broken down version when I move up to the 6-foot model.

Tight fit? Everything line up? And, did you seal it?

Bill

Everything lined up great, I didn't seal it with sealent though, I just pretty much screwed it all in, just make sure you have an electric screw, because I didn't, and wow, I got a lot of blisters. Very easy to assemble, about 1-2 hours appeice, all the screws fit in correctly, and the doors as long as you put everything in the right way, it's perfect. There is one thing though, make sure you put something as bedding int he cage, because static electricity can build up! But they are holding up strong as ever just with screws, there are deffidently enough of them so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Anymore q's, feel free to ask
