Importance of Showering

tassadar898 Dec 03, 2004 05:29 PM

I've heard stories where showering can cure a lot of things, especially my cham's eye eye closed dilema. I try to shower him and he just closes both eyes tight and doesn't move. I don't see him drinking/cleaning how his eyes.

it depends what the problem is. I am also wondering if you are handling this guy too much. Misting, showering, etc. can all be quite stressful for a cham. I would not be taking him into a regular shower with that sort of pressure unless really warranted. it is usually reserved for a dehydrated cham.

You can gently mist him in his cage. Find a spritzer with a very fine spray. I bought a glaas atomizer type bottle with a super fine mist. Fill it with HOT water - the air will cool it to warm with every spritz. Mist above his head so that it naturally falls on him. he will probably close his eyes and if he doesn't move away you can mist him for a few minutes until he is nicley covered. if you spray from a regular bottle you are apt to startle him and then he may begin to shy away from you altogether.
