To breed or not to breed??

ghengistahn Dec 03, 2004 07:34 PM

hey guys i have a normal female. 2200 grams and a normal male that is 1000 grams.. i was wondering if i should breed her with the male or not?? The thing is that i have a pastel.. that wont ready till next year.. Should i breed these two for practice?? Or wat should i do?? Just let her grow until next year?? Also how hard is it to get rid or normal balls? if i do breed them? I am new to this as you can see... so any advice would be greatly appreciated

I don't think your snakes need any practice. Breeding comes naturally.lol

But, really. Is your pastel a male or a female? If it is a female I would go ahead and breed the normals. If your pastel is a male I would start to take into consideration how much weight can be gained by the female for the next breeding season. Some times a female can lose almost half her body weight by having a clutch of eggs. Some times they bounce right back, and some times they don't. If she doesn't bounce right back, you'll have to wait another year to breed her to your pastel. It's all about the health of your animals.
