Puzzling Eastern locale question....

toyvet Dec 03, 2004 09:54 PM

We had a young man bring in a 3.5' Eastern King into our veterinary hospital for a physical exam and fecal analysis today. His mom said he caught it in woods/ open field near the Menlo Park, New Jersey Mall.....Is that possible ? She said he actually found three this past summer and kept only one....Do they range that north in NJ ? Thanks for any replies

Yes they do. I don't know where Menlo park is, but if it's in the bottom half of the state then they do exist there and have always been there.

Thats north of Getula range for sure but not way north. Mon mouth Co. is the northern most county Easterns are recorded in. You might mention to this person its illegal to take any native reptiles out of the wild in NJ.

as I'm not familiar with NJ laws. I know most of the souths' laws but don't mess around anywhere north of NC. (Too far to drive, LOL!)
