and have done so every year! Until the weather gets progressively colder. During warm or semi warm spells at the height of the day they do like to come out and crawl around in order to seek better places to hibernate or just to come out for a drink and a little exercise (They may even do this on a not so warm day initially). This activity will drastically decline as the weeks go by. Don't worry this is normal. By the way, what are your temps?
I keep mine outside (in a small separate room), with no heat, and no AC from Dec - Mar, and I live in SE. NC (near Fayetteville).
Average daily temps here are:
December: high 55 , low 36
January: high 51, low 33
February: high 55, low 35
March: high 64, low 43
Yes there are spikes (and dips) in temps, but that's the way it is in Nature. If it gets too cold, like in the twenties/teens then I add a little heat to keep temps around 35-40 degrees (only during the coldest nights of the year). If it gets too warm for a day or so, then I do nothing - it gives the chance for the snake to come for a day out and at least get a drink. This has worked for me for over 20 years now.

Same here. My king is coming out for a couple of hours and then goes back in hide. Trying to get the temps down for the night but the day temps are around the 60s.
