shedding question

violator Dec 03, 2004 11:37 PM

ok i have had my tokay for about 4 months now and he hasnt shedded! He has about doubled in size almost. I did see about a 1/2 inch part of skin a couple days ago but its not a full body shed. He is normal colored and seems to be actting normal. So why isnt he shedding? I have a waterfall in his tank and mist it twice daily.

Don't know about Tokays, but Leos and Fat Tails eat their shed, so he may have shedded but you just didn't know it because he ate the evidence. Has he gotten really pale/ashy looking and then the next day he was bright again? If so, he probably did shed. That's what happens with my Fat Tail.

Like EBC said Tokays do eat their shed and you probably just haven't seen it. If the humidity is good in your setup they actually shed pretty qwik. I observe mine all the time and rarely catch them in shed.
