blue leo

sasobek Dec 04, 2004 12:04 AM

i think blue is posable. right now people are working on green so i think all you will have to do is take the yellow away and then you might just be able to get blue. attached is a pic of a leo that im working on a project with and trying to prove out the green. this is a pic of two sisters that i hatched and as you can see one is defanitly alittle different then your normal super hypo carrot tail. just have to work on the shade alittle and maybe we will have green leos in the next couple of years and if you can make green. blue will soon follow. but it will take time.so if ron says that he is on his way to a blue one he has been breeding alot longer then most of us and i know pple that have seen the blue gecko. and just dont think that its an all blue gecko. cause frome what i have heard it is not its a dot that is the size of a dime or quarter at the base of the tail kinda like carrot tail. only blue. and look how much carrot color is on leos now its going to take atleast 5 years to see any good amounts if the blue breeds true. we will just have to wait and see and better that ron proves it first then we all jump on these things and be disapointed. so let him do his work and see them when they come out. but i think the green will be out first just because there hints of the green poping up in different places.

You do not know anyone that saw blue in any leopard gecko..... Ron does not even claim to have a leo with any blue in it..... If he had something like that he would have posted it..... He is going by the purple eyes in one of his tang albinos.... He is not talking about regular wild type leos, he is talking about blue albinos..... Think about this for a second..... What normal color comes up as blue or lavander in albinos??? Now I am pretty sure in most reptiles, it is black..... Right or wrong???? This means there would have to be a leo that is the reverse of a super hypo..... In other words, he would have to have a leo that is melanistic...... Last I checked there are no melanistic leos around..... You are not thinking clearly in this case...... Now he does have a leo that has purple eyes but this does not mean there will be blue albinos produced.... He is going by kingsnake genetics...... Genetics are not so cut and dry..... Also that little lie you posted does nothing for you in the eyes of anyone here..... Eveyone knows someone that saw something..... When a sentence is started off with "I know someone that blah blah blah" it is usually false info or a big fat lie...... Again, there are no blue albinos...... Nothing even close..... And I have a funny feeling there never will be..... Ron has been seen back peddaling on more than one situation because genetics did not prove out to be what he thought..... Never count on anything until you see it and prove it out......

You super hypo is very nice but it is no different than most of them..... Pretty average if you ask me.....

Gregg-

How do you know that no one has ever seen a leopard gecko with blue on it in Tremper's collection? If someone says they have are you saying that person is lying?

Just wondering, since you seem so sure

Actually Kelli, I am most sure that he did not see it because he said he "knows" someone that has seen it.....

KelliH Dec 04, 2004 03:51 PM

What you said was, "You do not know anyone that saw blue in any leopard gecko".

You also said, "Also that little lie you posted does nothing for you in the eyes of anyone here.....".

And my question for you is, what makes you think he is lying? How would you know?

BTW, I agree with you, I do not believe there were ever be a blue albino, at least not in the sense that people are thinking. But you calling someone a liar like that when you have no knowlege at all of what Tremper has or doesn't have in his leopard gecko collection is a little uncalled for. IMHO of course.n

Point well taken Kelli..... I did call him a liar but I also backpeddaled alittle buy saying he either got faise info or he is lieing towards the end of my post..... But yeah, you are right, maybe that comment was alittle uncalled for....

in my opinion gregg you are a very rude person and you jump all over people who post something you dont believe in. Take it easy and lay off some of the people.

Good for you and your 2 cents..... What you should do with your 2 cents is go out and buy a clue..... Why cant people tell the difference from being rude and having a strong opinion on something???? Some people here need to grow a thicker hide....

"In other words, he would have to have a leo that is melanistic...... Last I checked there are no melanistic leos around..... "

I remember when R.T. hatched an all black leo. Does anyone know what ever happened to that? Most likely it lightened up, but I don't think he has ever updated about it, and he's a pretty secretive guy about what he has. I think what Ron has in mind is possible, but I don't think it's what everyone expects. I'm starting to work on an all purple Bell albino, as I have a 1.1 pair of Bells that are extremely purple.

A literally all black hatchling arrived at my store one day (it was blask even after warming up and settling in for a few days) and of course I bought it right away. But unfortunately it lightened up in some areas. It still has very unusual patterns though, bands in stead of spots. I can't wait to see hoe it turns out!
