i think you should start the topic you were discussing earlier. i would be quite interested in learning the differences between the different species and more in general about u. malama.
thanks,
andrew

well, i was cruising thru another hobbyist picture forum when i ran across this pic. i'd hardly say its a good enough picture, seems as though their might be some spiny scales where there shouldnt be. anyway, i thought i would offer it to see if anyone had anything to say about it.

definately unique, noticeable tail shape difference.

Not U. malama in my estimation... I too have an extensive collect of scientific journals on Uroplatus and from my reading I would say that is a long-tailed ebans as well...

Sorry it has been so long guys. I didn't realize there was a response.
The picture on this thread is not U. malama. It has spines all over it's body and it isn't large enough. It's could be either phantasticus or ebenaui. The picture is so close I can't tell the proportions well enough. It has such odd pattern for ebenaui, but I'd have to see the dorsal side from a little further back to really tell 100%. Most likely an ebenaui though.

Anyway, today is Sun Dec 12th. I have some holiday shopping to do and probably won't get to it today. I may have time tonight I hope. If not I will get it done Tuesday afternoon. Monday I'm busy unfortunately, although I'd much rather be doing this. I'll put up a comparison topic soon guys, I promise.

Robert
