Alas, I've never hatched out anoles - I don't keep my male with my females - so I can't help with that part.

BUT, a couple things... Are you certain you have a male and a female? Females lay unfertilized eggs fairly often. If you're positive it's a he and a she, I doubt the egg is ok if it was in the water bowl.

Also, 10 gallons is very small for two anoles. *Especially* if you have a male and a female. He will very likely run her to death trying to mate with her. A 20 or 30 gallon tall would be much healthier for them. Just a side opinion here.

Yes...10 gallons really is too small for two anoles.

Hello. I agree the egg in the water bowl is probably no good. My friend has a pair of bahaman anoles that have layed several eggs. The last time I talked with my friend she found baby number 15. They mate and lay eggs roughly 6-8 weeks then they hatch in another 6-8 weeks. That is a GUESS. Kingsnake has a great site on anole care. Check it out.
No way is a 10 gallon tank big enough for a mating pair of anoles.(Or 2 females for that matter. I have my 2 females in a 25 gallon high tank) My frineds enclosure built by her husband is some 5-6 feet high by 3-4 foot wide and deep. In my honest opinion if your new to anoles and don't have any desire to raise little tiny fruit fly, pin head eating babies to adult hood AND then find homes for them, then best seperat them. Not to mention each one of those babies needing it's own 10 gallon tank. (10 gallon is plenty of room for a baby). Good Luck.
