Help with gravid Carpet?

moosemonitor Jul 01, 2003 10:42 PM

The large female carpet we brought home two weeks ago is gravid, eggs easy to feel. We bought some moss, and have a tupperware container, but is this all we need to do for her to lay? We never intended to breed her, so we were completely unprepared for this, anyone help?

They aren't like humans. You don't have to "deliver" these eggs if she is indeed gravid.

that this individual wants to know how to make a proper incubation set up.

From what I understand it's best to do a no-substrate method, 89 to 91 degrees? use a piece of "egg crate" (like plastic hardware cloth?) and the eggs rest on that, below that is vermiculite which is saturated to keep the humidity as close to 100% as possible.

This is from memory, read everything in this forum, and you will learn a lot, then ask specific questions and the folks in this forum might actually help you out.
