Substrate for Leos

FroggyToads Dec 04, 2004 02:10 PM

Hello as you can probablly tell by my name I am not a gecko guy. All of a sudden I really want one. I guess I was bitten by the Leopard Gecko bug. I have been doing my reading up to find out all I can aboutthem. Reading many care sheets and stuff. I have been told that it is best to use paper towling as a substrate. Some care sheets say that sand could be used. Won't they become impacted if they should eat sand? Can some one direct me to a good care sheet?

Thanks

Haha..yup Leopard Geckos are very addicting. Be careful if you get one you'll probably end up getting a few more..lol. In my opinion tile is the best substrate. It's cheap, easy to clean and looks natural. You can get some at home depot for about 99 cents. I use the bending kind because it's easy to cut but you can get teh reg stone kind and break it into smaller pieces if you would like. It conducts heat very well. Click on the link below and you will find a caresheet. Hope this helps!
