I've got a 2.5 yr old male BCI that I've had since early April. He's never been a problem feeder, taking f/t rats off the cage floor. Since his last shed two weeks ago, he's refused two meals (spaced five days apart). He's also been very restless lately, just not his normal laid-back self. I believe that I read somewhere in the past that boas, especially males, can go off feed in breeding season. He shows a mild interest in a rat when I place it in the cage, then proceeds to ignore it and roam around for hours. I'm not concerned about him skipping a meal - he's active and has good weight & muscle tone - I'm just curious to learn more about boa behavior to improve my keeping skills. If this indeed sounds like breeding-induced fasting, how long does it normally continue? I'd prefer to waste as few rats as possible. Thanks for any advice. Jay
