gecco Dec 04, 2004 07:14 PM

Besides the fact that I just like saying that what do you guys who still feed crickets gutload them with? Commercial or some secret recipe? I use carrots and flake fish food seems to work ok but Im sure there is something better.

I use Nature Zone, Cricket total bites. It has a super ingredient called "spirulina" which is extremely healthy for your crested. It is a one step process because the bites contain liquids, so you don't have to put water in the cricket's cage. It's only about six dollars and it lasts for something like six months before it either runs out or goes bad, which ever comes first. They only have it at pet stores that specialize in insects and/or reptiles. Hope it helps.

T-Rex Crested Gecko diet has spirulina in it, doesn't it? Why not just feed that to your crix?

I use rolled oats, wheat bran, and Fluker's cricket food, along with a piece of apple for moisture. I'm trying to get rid of the Fluker's because I bought it before I knew to use something other than commercial cricket food for better nutrition. Hehehe!
