which heat source?

uropat Jul 01, 2003 11:39 PM

I want to get a leopard gecko. Was wondering what heat source is the best. I want to get an undertank but care sheets say heat lamp is good. Please tell me what is best.

whoever made those caresheets don't know anything. UTH is better, though a nocturnal type bulb is fine as well.

UTH with a thermostat or reostat is the way to go for the belly heat required for digestion but some people do do well with lamps.

I use both UTH and heat strips. UTH on glass tanks and the heat strps for the Rubbermaid containers.
