First, this forum tends to get so much traffic that if a post does not get answered right away it tends to get lost in the shuffle. I scrolled down and noticed that a post just above yours got a TON of response, adding to the situation. Yours was "gone" before many of us had a chance to see it.
As for your initial question: I am going to add my 2 cents and offer the opinion that 2X2 is a bit on the small size. A pretty good rule of thumb that I see over and over is that the cage should be at least twice as long as the snake. Unless you plan on upgrading when your corns reach adulthood, they are going to be pretty snug.
I would prefer to see people slow down once their ability to comfortably house their animals reaches a limit. I have "only" 13 snakes right now, and am slowing WAY down. First of all, I have several 50 gallon Sterilite totes for my larger ratsnakes. Second, I feel that I am reaching MY personal limit in terms of herp care, given the fact that I have a job, family, and other hobbies/interests. Our dining room is now my snake room, and we are considering building a snake room in the basement.
You certainly CAN house corns in a 2X2 (comfortably, for awhile). In the long-run, however, I think something with a little more length would be better. Duffy
