Tree Frog

Justin Stricklin Jul 02, 2003 12:04 AM

About 1 week abo I found some tads in a mud hole, and I caught 2 to put inside my puffer tank for it to eat as a treat. Well last night I noticed that there was a frog less than one inche long and it turns out to be a aby gray tree frog. He/She is white. It has a sore on it;s leg from when it was in the tank with the puffer fish. But it is doing well. I thought of it to be a leopard frog when I found them. I have never fpund tree frog tads before. It is so pretty. I will keep thi little guy to a wripe old age. I will post some pics of it when it starts to grow alot. I have never seen any this real white color. Here is a pic of it now. Oh and The other one is going to change in a week or 2 also.

While Iam in the tree frog topic I will explain my new way of breeding tree frogs and how to keep many around the house. It works with me anyway. I had set out 1 little 14" long 4" high storage box cleaned before use by a tree above the ground on the fence of my turtle pond. And then there are about 500 baby tads in there. The only thing it could be is tree frogs because there is no way a bull frog or anything can get up there. I will start putitng out many small boxes by trees where I can here the adult males calling, and hopefully they will all be full of tads. Maybe I can get the rare ( in my area ) barking tee frog to reproduce there. There was algae growing in it and a few dead insects in it so I don't have to really feed them. I got out about 35-50 of them and put them into a container. I will keep about 5 and let the rest go. Here is a pic of the ones I removed.

Cool! Can I have a couple of those grey tree frog tads?

Justin Stricklin Jul 02, 2003 01:19 AM

The tads or the baby frogs, after they metamorphize ( I think that's the word) ? Because I don't know if the tads would survive. But if you pay for shiping sure. You'll have to tell me how to send the tads. Just e-mail me.

I need your email address. I will take the froglets. I can wait till they get old enough and breed them.(Can I have 3 of them?)

My e-mail add is: reptiles9760@yahoo.com.I thought it showsed it whenn I post a message. Can't you like click on my name or something if not I will hhave to fix that on my profile. Thats how it works with me. Yea sure you can have 3. I don't know if they are grey though. They maybe green, blue purple, or a neon color(joke). They probably are grey though. That is the kind I see the most. I would like them to be barking tree frogs. I have only seen one in my area in my hole 15 years of life, of looking for frogs lizards and snakes. It just kinda came to me. It fell on my head off of a large tree.

If anyone is interested i have 100's of adult Grey and Green tree frogs. I can't give them away because i do infact own a wholesale business; however i wouldn't mind selling a few of them for wholesale prices to you guys. The Grays are one of the coolest frogs we have here in Louisiana.
