Can you tell me some general info?

I've had my turtles for a while (6 years) and I still don't know this:

What is the right way of holding them when you have to transport them? I know the way I do it is wrong... I basically just hold them on the sides and they are free to "fly superman style" which is bad, I know. But since I barely touch them I'm not really ever worried about picking them and causing them stress.

Of course now their bigger and recently I had to transport them to clean the tank and the larger male RES was super strong... boy oh boy he just pushed my fingers aside when I tried grabbing him. Hah so can you tell me how I can properly hold them so they can't squeeze out and accidently hurt themselves (when they fall)

Oh and another question: Is 160-180 dollars for a 100 gallon tank a good price? That's the price my local aquariam is asking for it... they are going to order it tommorow if I call them. I mean to me this is a huge bargain seeing how the 55 gallon tank I was looking at in Petsmart was already 110-130 dollars @_@

Thanks!

I have found that the best way to hold them is to put their
body in the palm of your hand that way they feel secure and
don't thrash as much. They will get used to this if you are
gentle.

I do not use aquariums for mine but from what you priced
out at the petshop it does seem fair. Have you ever considered
a large cattle trough? I bought a 60 gallon from Farm and
Fleet for about $50 and turned it into a visual point in
their room. I also have one I utilize in the summer to soak
up some real rays. It has worked very nicely. I am in the
process of redoing all of my enclosures as everyone is growing.

Hope this helps

at first you pick them up by the side the shell and then lay it flat in ur palm while you put ur other hand over it...
