Feeding Leos in a seperate container?

-JayDog- Dec 05, 2004 07:48 PM

What does everybody think of feeding your leos in seperate containers? I bought a 6 qt shoebox sized tupperware container for each of my leos. I tried last night to put each leo in a sperate container to feed them and none of them ate anything. I would prefer that they eat from these containers so I dont have to hunt out and remove crickettes and worms from their tanks that do not get eaten.

I was thinking that the leos have to get use to the idea of moving from their home to another place to eat. But I wanted to get peoples opinions.

Yes, they must be conditioned to associate the tupperware with being fed. The good eaters (pigs) seem to catch on faster. I find that the best way is to handle them everytime before you feed them. Right before. Then put them in the tupperware. Before they have a chance to go, "ohmygoshthisisdifferent" throw a cricket or something in there that moves a lot. If they are hungry (you may want to skip a feeding or two first if they're not too young), they should snap that head around and go for it. Use one that is not see through, and not too reflective. they hget stuck wondering who the other leo is and forget about food. Once they get it once, they pretty much get it. Any more ?s, email me.
