A local petshop has a ball python they are labeling a "jungle ball". Now, all my research has shown that true jungles have that yellowish blotch on their head. When I brought this up to the employee, he stated that there's "classic jungle" who have the blotch, and that "jungle ball" is just a term used to desrcibe any ball that isn't...."normal". I was just wondering if there's any truth in this, or are they just saying it's a jungle to charge $80 for the snake? It's a beautiful snake, but I would just like to know what I'm purchasing if I decide to get it.

no, it's not a jungle, a true jungle will also have a black mustache

pick it up then, $80 not bad for a good looking ball. Only suggestion is that if your contemplating breeding anytime in the future, pick up a good looking female and let here grow a few years. Let her increase in value 500% or so pic up a male pastel for $500 in 3 years, then you get really really pretty snakes... Notice the s at the end of that word, snakes.... Never to many beauties laying around....

I only say that pick up a female as most petstore balls are imports or males left over from a local breeders stock....

Right now not too sure I have the room (or the available funds what with the holidays upon us), as I have a female redtail, and a female green anaconda, and have several bearded dragons on the way! I had a ball, and would love to get another one in the future, but that will have to wait a bit. You should check out the pic of my redtail in the boa forum...you'd never guess I paid $20 for her!
