Will you have Snow eastern garters for the 05 season? how much? and how can i reserve them? What happens if you cross out snows with melanistics? Thanks Greg

Hopefully our adults will produce some snow easterns next year. Crossing a melanistic to a snow should produce melanistics that are 100% het for snow. As far as ordering/ reserving, best to personally email me as the forum isn't the approriate place to discuss this (it's against their rules).

*****"Crossing a melanistic to a snow should produce melanistics that are 100% het for snow."

I would expect 100% hets for melanistic and snow. Is melanistic not simple recessive?

That aside, what happens when melanism is combined with amelanism? The two traits are exactly opposite. That's something I've been wondering about for a while.

Thanks
Cam

Scott has a pic in the gallery of a double homozygous melanistic albino(snow eastern). It is pretty much pink with a faint stripe near the head.Being a snow is already het mel.You would get mostly melanistic het snow and the rest would be normal looking double hets.
