Leo wont Eat!!!!!!! please Help

Lacrosseboss18 Dec 05, 2004 11:22 PM

I got a Leo about two weeks ago and he hasnt eaten since i got him. He is a Tang Albino. He is about 4 months old. All he does is stay in his hide all the time. Ive tried crickets, mealworms and he isnt interested in anything. I am getting real worried, what do i do... Is there something else i can do. Im going to try smaller crickets tomorrow. I tried dumping them in his cage with nothing int ehre and a whole load of crickets but nothing. I leave meal worms in there 24/7 for him to eat and he has no interest. I put powder on all the food. Anyone have any ideas.

I have him in a 10 gallon tank for now with an UTH and a red dome light. I also for hides i have a rock hide and a half tree hide.

Please help

Tank is usually around 85 on the hot side.

You might try raising the warm side temp a bit. I try to keep the substrate over the UTH at 90. I've found that anything lower and their appetites drop somewhat. Just my opinion. Good luck and keep us posted.

also it is winter-ish time, so leos may not eat as much unless you have a very warm cage. crank up the temps and see if he will eat a waxworm
