Poor Incubation

bast Dec 06, 2004 06:50 AM

Hello All,

On Nove 19th my female laid 25 eggs. It is her first clutch. I set them up in a modified Hovabator. I put the top on a lager styrofoam shipping box. It fits tight and allows me to put several inches of water in the bottom. I placed the eggs half buried in a moist mixture of vermiculite and peat. I attempt to keep the Hovabator at 85 but it tends to vary /- 3 or 4 degrees. The humidity does not seem to get over 60%.

So far I thrown out 19 obviously infertile eggs.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Infertile eggs won't hatch. It doesn't matter how much experience you have or what you use to incubate them.
