Hi everyone,
I did and early cooling and observed my last copulation on November 5th. Now that was the fourth time they had locked up since October 1st. Now I never caught ovulation, because since then she has been in her hide box, but last week my female shed and stopped eating shortly after that last breeding. During the shed she was "on her side and turned upside down" and she did look large like she ate a meal, but I wasn't sure if that was too early to be ovulation or not.
Now she has shed, not lost weight but looks pretty damn normal. If she ovulated and I missed it and shed last week and it was post ovulation shed wouldn't she be very swollen and larger than normal. Especially if she is only 30 days from deposition? I mean she is swollen at her vent area but I have palped her a few times and feel still only follicles or small bumps not a shelled egg. Could it just be coincidence that she stopped breeding and shed so early? Can I still put the male in again and see if it takes? Because of the shedding they haven't been together in about 3 weeks. Is that too long? One week during the shed she was constantly in her warm box 83-88, but now she is around her water bowl on her cool spot 75-80. I'm very confused, and I don't want to stress her or what not, but I don't want to loose the follicles either. Anyone else have a similar experience or advice on this? any opinion would be appreciated.
