Check him out, he's a rescue, obviously a box turtle, dont know what type though. A friend found him crossing the street this morning. Dont really know exactly what I should do with it but im sure I'll figure it out...

i've never seen such a tiny box turtle. your friend must be pretty keen-eyed to have spotted him crossing the street! are you going to keep him?
I figure I'll keep it until spring at least. I believe that when a turtle is this small, hibernation is more dangerous than beneficial. Also, my town isn't the best place for a turtle to be running around (lots of cars, streets and hungry racoons). Hopefully I can get it eating well and have it grow a bit so in the spring it can be taken far far away and released in a more sutable habitat. That is, unless I get attached...
