how long before i should worry? kind of important

rinoa05_1987 Dec 06, 2004 01:36 PM

well starting about three weeks ago my leo dropped in his eating pattern significantly, then he shed about a week later so i figured his appetite drop was due to the shed. two weeks later he has only eaten about two-three mealies and possibly one superworm. i can't tell because the second one i put in was able to get out and i had to get a taller dish but i haven't seen the first super so i'm assuming e ate it. my question is how long can leo's go without eating. he has been drinking water and licking his calcium but not eating. another thing is in the event that he refuses to eat for however long the normal time before taking action should i buy an appetite jump starter for leo's or should i skip that and take him to a vet? thanks for the help.

Hmm..has he lost any weight? What do you have as the substrate?
WE kinda need more info. If he's losing weight I would start to worry especially if it's been a while since he's eatin anything.

he hasn't had any weight loss and he is on a slate subsrate. he is still as active as he normally is and doesn't seem to be ill so i'm thinking it is just a seasonal change.

Sounds like he'll be alright. Mine go through a state where they won't eat anything but they don't lose any weight or seem sick for about two weeks and then they start eating again. Keep us posted. Remember to watch for loss of weight.
