arboreal snake for a 25 gallon high tank

janome Dec 06, 2004 02:32 PM

i have a 25 gallon high tank (24"long X 12"deep X 21"high) that i have 2 anoles in right now. i want to find a place that will take the anoles and was thinking of putting an arboreal snake in it. is there any snakes that would fit in comfortably? like the emerald tree boas or green tree pythons.
how about corn snakes. do they really like to climb? i have 2 corns already in 20 gallon long tanks. my ghost seems like he would like to climb. would this size tank be ok for him? thanks anyone.

a baby atb, etb, gtp would live along time in a tank that size before it needed to be moved.
I have a 1yr old atb that i have in a 20 gallon and she has plenty of room

how are the tree boas with handling, etc? do they eat mice or rats? what size tank will they need when they get full grown? are they like 5-6 foot as adults?? i will research some more but if you have had exp with them i'd like to hear about it. thanks again.

they will eat rodents..mine eats pinkie rats.
They get farily long but are skinny. A friend of mine keeps 2 pair in a 2x2x3..and there is plenty of room for them...the adults really arent very big..just long and skinny
Handling is not really there thing...they are mostly a look at me snake...they tend to be bitey and as adults pack some pretty big teeth....I just handly mine when its necessary for cleaning and thats pretty much it...she has a pretty decent attitude for as little handling as she gets though...she will bite though
