Hey,
In answer to your question, that is a big YES!, I do keep meticulous records on all the happenings here in and around the bloods and short-tails and other herps. Any time one poops, I record it, any time, one is opaque and sheds, I record it. Feedings, and other things, particularly, breeding and prelay sheds, and ovulations when detected, and finally egg deposition, is also, recorded. I can't tell you enough, how indispensible my records have been to me, particularly with this girl, as I had to go into the records and find when others of the group had also, laid eggs, and determine whether she was still within a safe laying period and not experiencing what we call "egg-binding".
I was starting to get a little bit worried, but knew that she still had a few days left on her safely speaking. She could've laid any where from 17 to 30 days after her post-ovulation shed. She had her pre-lay shed on 11/9/04, and laid eggs on 12/6/04. That is exactly 27 days after the pre-lay shed. So I'm happy that there were no complications with her and that she was able to pass the eggs with no problems. She laid 8 good eggs (what appear to be normal) and 6 slugs. Anyhow, that is how it's done. Good luck with your breeding endeavors too.
