Hi,
You have great pics there, and great snakes to take pics of! I'm getting a digital camera soon, so I would love to know what kind you have....and anyone else who wants to give advice on camers
Thanks

the "glottis". By opening and closing this organ, Pituophis can make the hissing noise that sounds like a pipe leaking steam. All your pics are nice. Looks like your Northerns were putting on a nice show for the camera. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!

Yeah, these two are pretty hissy when disturbed. It is amazing how a 10" baby can sound just like a 6' adult.

The preglottal keel actually plays little role in the sound the make - it amplifies it somewhat. The real feature of pits is that they have a dorsal laryngeal septum that acts as a vocal cord; the only one known in reptiles.

Yours kind of remind me of mine: beautiful female and a more bland male. I like the pure white look better. My female also has more red, she just has better color than him all over. Your female is spectacular, one of the best northerns Ive seen!

I like the white look better myself. The male is much more yellow, but he has some pretty red areas, too.

thanks!

Those snakes are un-freaking believable!!

Another example showing the reason why I love northerns so much! The variability of how they can look is clearly shown here.

What is the story on those?? How old? Where did they come from?

Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!! Keep them showing them off to us!

Billy, I bought them from a guy named Jim Davide in New York. Unfortunately, I lost the paper I wrote the breeder's name down on. They are New Jersey locality Northerns, probably about 4 years old.
