Your animals look like Mexican phase bairdi's to me. Very nice specimens by the way, my compliments.

I've seen some people in the classifieds calling Texas Baird's rats "metallic rats". Fairly fitting of many of the species.

Your picture looks like a Mexican Bairdi to me, as well, with that grey head and yellow body. Very diffent than my Texas Bairdi as kids. Lovely snake.

gorgeous yearling.....amazing the color change after only one year.......i also agree about the mexican look to it
Tim from vivid reptiles coined the phrase about HIS line of bairdi......which come from an extreme eastern locale....they tend to be more fire/lava orange and seem to have a more "metallic" sheen to the scales.....only time will tell
i have a pair from tim and they are wonderful
