Rare Earths'Galliwasps are Diploglossus montropis. Family: ANUGIDAE, sub family: Diplolossines, Genus:Diplogossus of which there are 17 species. They are Anguid Lizards related to Slow Worms, Alligator lizards,Sheltopusik, and Glass Lizards. Since they appear Skink like that is why the listing here.

Through convergent evolution they have achieved parallism with the Scincidae but since they are not skinks they shouldn't be listed here

Good point so.............

What do you suggest?

listing them on the Alligator forum?

They may be related but they are not true Alligator lizards

so does it really matter if they are discussed on the skinks forum or the Alligator forum?

Well they are not true skinks or true Alligator Lizards. But the validity of the question on Skink Form is acceptable because they look like skinks and questions are from beginner seeking knowledge with that species. Taxonomy says Anguid for now. No forums for many lizard species so maybe beginners have no other choice but to "post and hope" for related subjectmaterial and forum direction. But as long as a post comes up with questions we should try to help and point to correct Forum. I have seen Galliwasps listed incorrectly as Skinks, which I made contact to inform individual. Without much information on several now available species maybe new forums should be added. I always try to help anyone I can or point them in the correct direction.
