Eyelash Viper AV

I may be looking at getting an eyelash viper in a couple years and was just wondering-after reading several of the posts on them. Where could you possibly get AV?

You would have to import it, which requires getting a BB-IND (expiremental drug) permit, as well as a USDA import permit. I've been slowly working on getting my apps together, but seeing as how I don't keep any exotics (that have AV), I'm not in too much of a hurry just yet.

The Costa Rican polyvalent is what is used to treat Bothriechis (as well as Bothrops, Lachesis, S.A. Crotalus, etc) bites.

From what I've heard, it's pretty cheap, possibly as low as $25 a vial. You might want to keep about 20 vials, or roughly enough for 2 moderate to severe bites.

Assuming it's a B. Schlegeli. It may be one of the Indonesian eyelashes that are less common. Not sure if there's any AV for that genus.

when I ordered mine the guy asked if i wanted an indonesian one.....I thought he was a moron. Are there any pictures you can show me, or point me to? The only ones i know of are the south american ones lol.

Hi:

The way things are going THEY along with all venomous snakes could be banned from private ownership unless your lucky enough to live in one of the reasonable States.

Where do you live? We are starting an A/V bank in the North East US.

I live in Kentucky and had been interested in several of the begginner species. I was looking at Copperheads and Eyelash vipers. Some of the local hospitals could probably deal with the copperheads, but not the Eyelash. I have no experience with venomous snakes yet, so this would all be many years in the future. Thanks.
