Well grumpy finally got thin

funkymonkey Dec 07, 2004 04:26 PM

By laying all 8 of her litte eggs this evening, We actually watched her lay a few which was great barring in mind we have only had lizards for just a year now.

I have removed them and put them in damp vermiculite but i have ended up getting a wee bit flustered so cant remember what the best temp's are to keep the eggs at.

I have read that it can be anything between 45 an 60 days which is fine.
does 82-88 sound about right from memory of when i have asked about this before.

many thanks for all replies as i am kinda panicing a wee bit as this is the first time and all that.

Also what's the easiest way to tell if they are infertile or not.
I am fairly sure they are as i have not seen Dave with her and instead he seems more interested in Grumpy's sister (typical man !!! lol)

Even is thy are not fertile, its quite an experience to see them lay. AND more of a wonderful experience if they are fertile to see them hatch the first time and well EVERYTIME, is just as facinating to me

Temps are good at about 83ish Remember dont let them fall below low 70's and not to exceed 90

If they stay nice and firm and dont get squishy or spongy on ya, good sign. You should be able to see a pinkish oval (spot on them.

Good luck I hope they are GOOD EGGS but hey if not,

SPRING will be here before ya know it, and>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Theres always MORE from where they came from.

Congratulations and good health to Grumpy.

8 eggs! Just about how big are they? It's hard to imagine Annabella even having one.

Good luck with the eggs.

it truly is amazing how many eggs can fit inside their little bodies. last may, the morning that i was leaving to go out of town ivan laid nine. what is even more amazing is that a little creature ready to take care of itself come out of the eggs!
