Thank you all. I wrote the man that did this to him a very nice e mail about how he needs to take responsibilty for the reptiles he has, the tegu that i rescued is not the only reptile suffering.
That is indeed a sad thing, but it's something for anyone to learn from. Beware who you loan or give a reptile too. Make sure, as much as you can, that the person has not only interest in the reptile, but also at least some required knowledge.
Again, I feel for you and the tegu.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this, I had sincerely hoped you would see him recover. Some of us have a saying in science "you learn more by making mistakes". Learning can suck. My condolences.
