I'm sure there are others to better answer this one. I'd say you could, but be sure to provide plenty of hides.

Not sure as I don't keep Savs myself, could be it's not hungry or not warm enough. What's your temps?

I have the right temps, yesterday was his first meal in a while, so maybe that had somethin to do w/ him not wanting to eat today, i'll try again tomorrow.

Another thing to look for is adequate hide spots. My argus didn't have the normal "argus" appetite and the problem turned out to be inadequate hide/substrate. Since moving to a beeter enclosure, it eats like you wouldn't believe now and has grown a good deal. I posted pictures below. I would keep a chart of feeding (when, food type, and how much), as well to get an idea of it's feeding habits.

Hope this helps.

Mine sav has been sick, so for now he is in a 10gallon tank w/ paper towells until i get the go ahead to move him back to normal caging. He seems to be doing better in the 10 gallon w/ newspapers than anything. but i am planning on building him a real big cage during or after christmas.

I posted above as well, but I would use the coconut pith for now in the 10 gallon. Use warm water to expand it, or let it set and come up to room temp. before using it because it's really damp and cold. You'll want to put in some kind of hide as well. If the monitor is in the hide try not to disturb it. Read the savs for dummies post, as scott knows more about Savs than me.

Hope I've been of some help, and good luck with your Sav
