? about indoor turtle pond

Cdp75 Dec 08, 2004 12:51 AM

I've seen lots of pictures of outdoor turtle ponds and wondered if anyone had one set up indoors. If so, can you post a pic?

I'm asking b/c in the spring I'll be selling my house and looking for something in the country. I would love to have an outdoor pond for summer use but would hate having my map turtles outside for the summer in a nice big pond, then have to bring them in during the winter and back to the 55g. I already have some kind of idea for setting one up but would love to see some pictures.

C-$,
I have, in fact, just recently set up a 165 gallon pond indoors. It is a very basic, yet functional set-up. Not the prettiest thing by most standards, but the turtles have yet to voice a complaint!

I used a pre-formed garden pond that I was able to practically "steal" from Loews for $50 -- they were discontinuing the item. I had a tetra pond filter and pump from previous outdoor setups so I sent them into action.

I will have photos soon on my rudimentary web site -- also not so pretty...but functional! The link is below. I should have them posted by this Friday afternoon, hopefully. I'll also have pics of my new baby ultra pastel RES, baby hieroglyphic river cooter (they are both GORGEOUS!) and my ever-lovable RES'.

Lemme know if you have any specific questions and I'll be glad to help as much as I can.
