I just received a scrub and it has a huge left eye.I have been keeping snakes for twenty years and have read a million things referring to retained eyecaps and the horror stories.Well i have a bad case here and i wonder what can or should be done?

Thats too bad... Normally a vet is in order, who will drain off some if not all of the excess fluid, and prescribe an antibiotic..

poor sheds and retained eye caps. I soaked him really well in a tub and kept soaking his head until it was nice and soft. I took a towel and kept running him through it until all of his old sheds came off. I took a pair of tweezers and got a hold of the eyecaps and slowly removed them from his eyes. He did not seem to mind. I was just very careful not to pull quickly just in case there was discomfort. Hope this helps. Frank Kincade.
