Is cypress mulch safe for corns?

fatjay Dec 08, 2004 12:10 PM

I work at a grocery store and i could order in some cypress mulch and get it at cost. its the only type of mulch i could order, so i was just wondering is it safe for corns? I know some people dont like pine or cedar because it could cause respiratory infections ect.. Is cypress mulch the same way? Just curious. Thanx in advance!

its safe, its a little overkill however. I dont really think I would use it for a corn... just because corns like to burrow and cypress mulch has such large chunks they cant burrow in it. I'd go with aspen...it's not too expensive. Get a huge compressed bag at pet supermarket for $7.50 and that will cover my 29 gallon, 20 long, 10 gallon, and 2 kritter keepers about 1.75 times over. aspen = cheeeeep and gooooood.
