Venom Fields

Stroke_9 Dec 08, 2004 07:15 PM

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows of any fields that deal mainly with reptile venoms? Such as milking them for their venom and then sending the venom to a lab to produce antivenin. Can anybody help me pin down a name for someone who does that? I can't find it anywhere!!! Thanks.

Dr. Fry at venomdoc.com is the #1 venom researcher I've ever heard of, his site is pretty cool too.

As for milking, the Kentucky Reptile Zoo does it I believe, do a search for the site, the guy seems pretty respectable.

Hi:

If I understand your query correctly, then the answer could include the fields of Pharmacology & Toxicology.
