PLEASE tell me why snakes need dechlorinated water?? The reason the chlorine is in the water is to inhibit bacterial growth. It is supposed make the water "cleaner". Since there are quite a few diseases linked directly to dirty water bowls, I don't see the point in taking away the substance that is supposed to make the water cleaner.
I use straight tap water for everything but amphibians. Instead of chlorine, I would be more worried about the long term effects of exposure the chemicals in the dechlorinator! It's one more chemical that your animal doesn't need to be exposed to.
