Can anyone tell me if they have this book set and if they have found it informative? The more technical it is the better I'll like it. I have wanted to purchase it for several months, but have not actually gotten my hands on one to go though.
Thanks

Linda,
...I have looked through the two volume set. It was quite some time ago and I think there is a newer second edition of this set. It seemed like lots of detail, perhaps too much even. I think Dr Mader's big book Reptile Medicine and Surgery is newer than Biomedical Aspects of Captive Reptile Husbandry. The stuff I have read by Dr Mader about antibiotics and reptiles was good. I think he even wrote some of Dr Frye's two volume set but I may be wrong. I have not seen the newer book by Dr Mader but since it is newer I would be inclined to look into it before spending the money for the older and expensive two volume set by Dr Frye.

I bought Dr. Mader's book last winter and I love it. I read it over and over, and have learned so much. One of the reptile vets in Reno told me Dr. Mader is writing another book. She made it sound like a newer version, although I'm not sure. I wish he would hurry up
and finish it

I looked at both online and they only have very brief desciptions of their contents. I'm liking Frye's better thus far even though it was revised 5 yrs before Mader's. Next week I'll try to take some time and call a few of the Dr's I know to see if any of them have a copy and if I can go take a peek at them. If I could just look though each of them breifly, I'm sure I could decide.
Thanks
