Sacrifice for science.....

rearfang Dec 09, 2004 08:01 AM

This is a [bleep] so bear with me.....

An friend sent me a photo of a gorgeous Regal Ringneck. In the caption it said that the animal (and another) had never been found at that location and so they had to sacrifice their mortality to science!

As much as we are in a era where a DNA sample and a photo are really all the record necessary, why the#^$&&###(&^%)_& )&(& & & are we still sticking rare snakes in Pickle Jars?

Tottaly MORONIC!!!!!!!!!!

Same reason we still stick Deer heads on our walls and bear skins on our floors. Human doesn't equal humane and common sense is as rare as the pickled snake. Sad isn't it?

The ego of the "scientist" who finds the rare animal and wants to be recognized as such is much more important than protecting a vanishing species.

Those stories always pi$$ me off.
